The Indian Child Welfare Angel Tree program helps provide Christmas gifts to Absentee Shawnee children and elders, ages 0-17 in AST foster care or in legal guardianship through the AST tribal courts and Elders 65 years and older. Once an angel has been registered and accepted their Christmas wish list is placed on ICW’s Christmas tree for donors to purchase gifts. The gifts are distributed to the family to place under their Christmas tree.
Due to health and distancing concerns this holiday season, our angel tree is virtual this year. Click here to visit our angel tree.

In article XVII-Quorum, the constitution reads as follows:
General Council meeting, fifty (50) members of the General Council, who are eligible voters, shall constitute a quorum to transact business at any duly called General Council meeting.
On Saturday October 31, 2020, the 85th General Council meeting was to be held at 10:00a.m. The Executive Committee called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. The Election Commission confirmed that 27 members were in attendance and a quorum was not present. The Executive Committee adjourned the meeting at 10:03 a.m. The General Council meeting did not take place due to not meeting the Constitutional requirements.

The AST General Council was set for this morning @ 10am @ the tribal complex. Due to lack of a quorum, the General Council meeting could not commence. The Executive Committee would like to thank those who did make it out this cold windy morning.
AST members who would like to have a copy of the General Council booklet mailed to them, please contact the Tribal Secretary’s office @ 405.275.4030 during normal office hours. Also, Thunderbird Casino is offering $10 free play to all AST members today!!!
