Due to inclement weather, the Absentee Shawnee Complex will be closed on 10/27/2020. We will evaluate the situation tomorrow for a possible Wednesday reopen. Stay warm and be safe.
The Indian Child Welfare Angel Tree program helps provide Christmas gifts to Absentee Shawnee children and elders, ages 0-17 in AST foster care or in legal guardianship through the AST tribal courts and Elders 65 years and older. Once an angel has been registered and accepted their Christmas wish list is placed on ICW’s Christmas tree for donors to purchase gifts. The gifts are distributed to the family to place under their Christmas tree.

The City of Shawnee will be turning off the water to the Shawnee complex for waterline maintenance. Therefore the Shawnee complex will be closed on Monday, October 12, 2020. We will resume business the following business day, October 13, 2020 at 8:00 a.m. Should you have any question please feel free to contact my office.
Tribal members,
Due to the recent number of outbreaks within several departments of the Shawnee campus, the Executive Committee has agreed that no visitors would be allowed during the Special EC meeting, 10/7/2020. Please understand we are here to protect all tribal members as well as the staff that will be in attendance. You may review the agenda on the web page as well as the meeting video. This video will upload immediately following the meeting.
Thank you
The Executive Committee
Due to CDC restrictions the Executive Committee will allow only 10 visitors/Tribal members to attend tomorrows EC meeting, 9-16-2020. If you are needing to attend, you must contact the Governor’s office to be added to the list. Once again, we are only allowing 10 visitors/tribal members on campus during this time. In order to keep everyone safe and social distance we will follow all guidelines until further notice.
The Absentee Shawnee Tribe intended to move to Phase 2 of our Recovery Plan on September 1. However, out of an abundance of caution, the Executive Committee (EC) has decided to postpone that date. The EC will reconvene on Tuesday, September 8th to determine the safest course of action for our tribal members and employees. We will keep you updated on our plans as soon as more information can be provided.
Tomorrow (8/28) & Saturday (8/29), the AST Executive Committee will be hosting COVID-19 Education Aid Gift Card distributions. Student eligibility includes those who are enrolled in no less than 6 credit hours per semester or enrolled in a fulltime program at a college, technical or online school.
Parents or guardians of homeschooled students, if you have any questions, please email educationaid@astribe.com or call AST Enrollment at 405.275.4030.
Applications will be available at the distribution event but please be sure to bring all required documents.
Ne yi wa
Due to a main waterline break, there is no water pressure on the AST campus at Shawnee. This impacts the entire complex, including the pharmacy and the clinic. Effective immediately, we are closing the administrative complex, the AST pharmacy and the Health Clinic until repairs can be completed. We do not believe this will have impact on Monday's operations, but we will keep you updated. Please call the pharmacy to ensure drive-thru prescription pick-up is available on Saturday.
