General Description
This position provides pharmaceutical services for patients at the Absentee Shawnee Tribal Clinics. Work involves entering and filling prescriptions, providing customer service, inventory management, and other tasks necessary for a pharmacy’s successful daily operations. The pharmacy technician is under the supervision of the pharmacist(s) on duty and reports to the Pharmacist-in-charge.
Responsibilities & Duties
Accurately prepare medication orders under the direction of a pharmacist.
Must act professionally and relate well to Tribal Members and the general public.
Positive attitude and commitment to teamwork.
Support and contribute to the mission, vision, and goals of the department and the organizations.
Must be able to work under stressful conditions.
Must be reliable and prompt while possessing a strong work ethic.
Mus be computer literate.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements and Qualifications
Must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
New Pharmacy Technician licensure can be obtained during initial training. If already licensed, licensure with the State Board of Pharmacy must be current and in good standing.
Work experience with Tribal and Federal programs that affect Native American communities is preferred.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Nationally certified (CPht) is preferred but not required.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Must be able to pass a background check.
Must be able to pass a drug test.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, bend or kneel for long periods of time.
Sitting or standing or walking for long period of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking hearing and visual acuity
Frequent lifting (up to 25 lbs)
Occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs)
