General Description
Performs cleaning functions in assigned areas of the facility including patient rooms, staff areas, procedure/exam rooms, and public areas. These functions are completed following prescribed methods and established schedules.
Responsibilities & Duties
Meets organizational expectations as defined by the Employee Standards of Performance, department policies and procedures, and clinical strategic goals.
Verbalizes a clear understanding of continuous quality improvement and customer satisfaction measures and actively participates in improvement initiatives.
Clean assigned area using clinical approved methods and chemicals.
Maintain assigned area in a clean and sanitary condition free from dirt, dust and other visible soils.
Handle regulated medical waste in accordance with applicable regulations.
Follow Duty List for assigned are without deviation unless advised by supervisor.
Maintain assigned equipment and storage areas properly, keeping it clean and reporting any repair concerns to the supervisor.
Sweeps, mops, polishes, and strips floors in rooms and halls.
Dust and/or polishes furniture, blinds, and equipment.
Cleans restrooms and fills dispensers.
Vacuums, spot cleans, and/or shampoos rugs, carpets, and furniture using commercial-type vacuum cleaners and shampooing equipment.
Reports malfunction of bathroom fixtures, light fixtures, and/or damages to room and hall furnishings to supervisor.
Stocks are with appropriate supplies.
Washes dishes or utensils as required.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education Requirements and Qualifications
Knowledge of cleaning equipment, products, techniques and standards.
Skills in using cleaning products and equipment.
Skill in following verbal and written instructions.
One year of housekeeping experience or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.
Must have a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License.
Must be able to pass a background check.
Must be able to pass a drug test.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, bend or kneel for long periods of time.
Sitting or standing or walking for long period of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking hearing and visual acuity
Frequent lifting (up to 15 lbs)
Occasional lifting (up to 30 lbs)
