General Description
The 477 Programs Case Manager will be counseling clients, conducting interviews with clients applying for AST 477 Program Services, as well as will assist with general office duties.  The 477 Programs Case Manager may perform program intake, delivery and client interventions.  They may also perform work to include, but are not limited to, determination of program eligibility; and resource and referral for services for clients to other departments to assist with employment, education and training activities.
Responsibilities & Duties
  • The 477 Programs Caseworker shall have the following responsibilities and duties:
  • Conducts interviews with clients and completes necessary documents.  Reviews applicant data to determine eligibility for the 477 Programs; maintains accurate records on program participants.
  • Perform in-depth assessments of employment history, job skills, transferable skills, entry level and advanced abilities, training and education of the eligible participants.
  • Assists participants to set goals, steps, tasks and time lines to develop and execute a written plan/contract between the 477 Programs and participants. The goal is to achieve permanent, full time employment to become self-sufficient.
  • Manages participant case to monitor individual progress and compliance with employment and/or job search plan/contracts. Includes ongoing maintenance of case notes, plan/contract renegotiation's and updates.
  • Maintain files and process all paperwork to ensure due process and in compliance with Federal regulations and confidentiality and privacy laws.
  • May assist with 477 Program Outreach and Support Services.
  • Wiill cross train with other 477 Program staff.
  • Monitor the progress of each client's currently working to attain GED/High School Diploma.
  • Must be able to present 102-477 regulations clearly and accurately to participants and public. 
  • Participates in staff conferences for the purpose of overall program planning.
  • Provide input to 477 Director on the processes and implementing best practices.
  • Provide input on monthly reports presented to the Governor for informal or formal oral evaluations of the program.
  • Must adhere to Absentee Shawnee Tribe Personnel Policies and Drug and Alcohol Policies.Other duties as assigned.
Education and Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and have two of the following:
    • Bachelors’ Degree, preferably in Human Services or related field.
    • Two (2) year experience in Human Services field, or related work in a family relations and/or public assistance program;
    • Master’s degree in Human Services or related field.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Offices systems a must.
  • Applicants must have experience in working with Native American communities, experience in Tribal social services settings, preferred.  Must exercise mature judgment in dealing with people and in the solving of individual and family problems related to the provision of employment, education and training. 
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test for pre-employment for the Tribe
  • Must have a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License. 
  • Must be able to pass a background check. 
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, bend or kneel for long periods of time.
  • Sitting or standing or walking for long period of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking hearing and visual acuity.
  • Frequent lifting (up to 15 lbs)
  • Occasional lifting (up to 30 lbs)
