General Description
This position is located within the Absentee Shawnee Tribe at the Shawnee, OK location but may move locations depending on tribal or program needs. The Grant Coordinator will be responsible for the prevention efforts and outreach activities under the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Native Connections Grant, which aims to reduce suicidal behavior and substance use and promote mental health among Native Youth. These activities include: monitoring the time line, working directly with partners, creating partnerships, conducting presentations, and trainings, and coordinating evaluation activities. The Grant Coordinator will communicate with the tribes and tribal mental health programs, and be responsible for completing program scope of work activities.
Responsibilities & Duties
Conduct community assessments
Conduct surveys
Data collection
Analyze data
Develop comprehensive policies and procedures
Assist in preparation of grant reports as required by funding agency
Will meet regularly with the Director of Education and other grant staff to provide updates.
Plan and implement evidence-based programs
Evaluate of program methodology
Acts as a liaison and resource to the tribal community, organizations and partnerships.
Explore local prevention resources
Coordinated the development, production, ordering and dissemination of educational materials and promotional items
Host and collaborate prevention/awareness/outreach activities and events
Must adhere to Absentee Shawnee Tribe Personnel Policies and Drug and Alcohol Policies
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Qualifications
Associate’s degree and three years applicable experience, Bachelor’s preferred.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Federal or state grant experience, SAMSHA grant experience preferred.
Proficiency in grants management, public speaking, group facilitation, training, prevention program development, prevention evaluation, strategic planning, program implementation, and data compilation.
Understand principles, practices and techniques of grant project planning, development, evaluation, procedures of budget preparation and monitoring, and contracted services.
Immediate to advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
Must be able to pass a drug test for pre-employment for the Tribe
Must have a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License.
Must be able to pass a background check.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, bend or kneel for long periods of time.
Sitting or standing or walking for long period of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking hearing and visual acuity.
