General Description
Responsible for the maintenance, housekeeping, and general upkeep of all assigned Tribal grounds and facilities. This employee’s primary duties will be performed at the Absentee Shawnee Tribal Complex. This position will perform a variety of cleaning and maintenance functions as directed by the Maintenance Director and Office Manager.

Responsibilities & Duties
  • Cleans office buildings; including but not limited to: sweeping, dusting, mopping, scrubbing, washing, vacuuming, and collecting garbage.
  • Disinfects and sanitizes communal office spaces
  • Responsible for daily cleaning and sanitizing of bathrooms, including toilets, fixtures, sinks with germicidal solution.
  • Vacuums carpets daily
  • Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
  • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
  • Sweeps and clears entrances of debris and trash.
  • Refills paper towel, tissue, toilet paper and hand soap in all dispensers.
  • Changes light bulbs, as needed
  • Reports the presences of animals, vermin or insects, or repairs needed to supervisor
  • Performs inventory on cleaning supplies and reports to supervisor when in need of replacements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications
Education and Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Overall experience and housekeeping.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test for pre-employment for the Tribe.
  • Must possess a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation.
Working Conditions
  • Physically able to perform required duties including frequent periods of time stooping, bending, reaching, standing, crouching, crawling, climbing and walking.
  • The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles.
  • Should enjoy working outdoors, in all weather conditions; 
  • Be practical and hard-working; 
  • Have diligence; 
  • Have mechanical aptitude; 
  • Have organizational ability; 
  • Have the ability to endure isolation and limited social contact; 
  • Have good physical strength and stamina; 
  • Be independent, responsible and self-disciplined; 
  • Ability to lift 50lbs. 
  • Sitting or standing or walking for long period of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking hearing and visual acuity.
