General Description
The 477 Child Care Coordinator provides direction, guidance and consultation for all Child Care programs under the AST 102-477 Plan to include Building Blocks Tribally Operated Centers, Child Care Assistance Program, as well as AST After School Programs. Assist Building Blocks Directors by providing support guidance and direction. Coordinates certain aspects of the CCDF grant with 477 Director, AST, other tribes and federal staff.
Requirements
Responsible for understanding the philosophy and administrative policies of the 477/CCDF grant, childcare and Tribe, and for ensuring that they are implemented and followed.
As a communicator and promoter, will channel and receive information related to the 477 Program, related grants and child care facilities and programs to the appropriate contacts and liaisons.
Must be willing to be innovative with child care and child care grant objectives and able to convey those ideas to staff and tribal administration.
Must be able to keep up to date on all early education /child care initiatives that are important to the community, the programs and the Tribe. 
Cooperates with licensing staff and other appropriate agencies in maintaining compliance with requirements and in improving the quality of care.
Promote and raise awareness of the Absentee Shawnee Tribe, AST 477 Program and the local community regarding the needs and demands demonstrated by the children, 477 Clients, and the Tribe.
Serves in a leadership role as it relates to both management and grant planning.
Must be willing to assist in the childcare programs as needed.  Willing to provide direct child supervision.
Assist Building Blocks Directors and ASP Managers in hiring staff (teachers, administrative staff, cook, tutors, etc.).
Assist the AST 477 Director with the CCDF budgets and coordinates with the centers and programs on a sound and manageable budget.  Assist in budget modifications as needed.
Assist Building Blocks Directors with compliance with the 477/CCDF grant in facility, policy and procedures.  Provide other assistance to Directors, as needed.
Ability to report grant needs and analysis to AST 477 administration and Executive Committee.
Willingness to accept other duties as assigned.
Responsible for the Coordination of the AST Child Care Assistance Program.
Applicant interaction and approval and ensure their compliance with CCA program and guidelines
Ensure child care provider monitoring and communication to include provider visits and conducting onsite checklists. 
Investigate applicant complaints regarding child care providers.
Approved monthly provider reimbursements processed by CCA Staff.
Maintain applicant and provider data in the CCDF Tribal Tracker system.
Evaluate provider reimbursement rates as needed.
Ensure provider compliance with monitoring guidelines from CCDF and DHS.
Always maintain CONFIDENTIALITY. 
Responsibilities for the Coordination of the 477/CCDF Grant. 
Conducts/Assists in the tri-annual AST Child Count following the CCDF guidelines.
Assist with the AST 477 Plan, as needed.
Ensure all programs compliance with the most recent 477 Plan and objectives.
Writing P&P’s relating to the 477 Plan.
Analyze data from the Tribal Tracker for the submission of the Tribe’s annual 477 reporting requirement.
Ensure all annual reports are submitted, data and financial.
Attend all meetings, webinars, and conferences relating to 477/CCDF as needed.
Communicates with federal grant support staff regarding 477/CCDF and tribal administration of CCDF.
Report CCDF updates to tribal administration.
Responsibilities for the Coordination of the AST After School Programs.
Hire ASP Managers.
Administration of ASP financials, such as budget, revenue and purchasing.
Ensure health and safety philosophy is followed in regards to transportation safety, nutrition, hygiene awareness, decision making, appropriate child behavior and redirection, and daily safety and wellbeing.
Assist in program activities and planning.
Able to step into any role in the ASP as needed. 
Education Requirements
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Bachelor’s Degree (or ability to obtain within first year of employment); Master’s Degree in preferred.
3 years’ experience in grant administration and 3 years’ experience in a child care environment.
Ability to obtain CECPD Director’s Credentials a plus. 
Must possess strong public relations and communication skills.
Valid OK Driver’s License.
Must pass drug screen.
Must pass background check and fingerprint clearance.
Working Conditions
Must be able to travel in and out of state
Must be able to lift 30lbs, step, stoop, sit for long periods of time, and stand for extended periods of time.
