Job Title: Child Care Director

Type of Position: Full-time (Salary)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Director is a leader of the daycare staff, providing support guidance and direction.

REQUIREMENTS :

• Responsible for understanding the philosophy and administrative policies of the daycare, and for ensuring that they are implemented and followed.
• As a communicator and promoter, will channel and receive information related to the daycare to the appropriate contacts and liaisons
• Cooperates with licensing staff and other appropriate agencies in maintaining compliance with requirements and in improving the quality of care
• Maintain appropriate records and fully understands Confidentiality
• As a Teacher, will expose and raise awareness of the Absentee Shawnee Tribe and the local community regarding the needs and demands demonstrated by the children, parents, and Board of the Childcare Center
• Serves in a leadership role as it relates to both management and instructional programming
• Willingness to accept other duties as assigned
• Responsibilities regarding children and parents:  The Director observes the social, intellectual, emotional and physical well being of the children
• Responsibilities regarding childcare staff and program: The Director is responsible for hiring staff (teachers, administrative staff, cook, etc.),
• Responsibilities regarding finance: The Director implements the budget in collaboration with the Finance Department

EDUCATION:

• Must be at least 21 years of age and have one of the following:
• CDA Credential or Certified Childcare Professional Credential with 2 years of satisfactory full-time experience or Bronze Director's Credential
• Bachelor Degree with at least 12 college hrs. of Tier III training in Early Childhood Education or an approved related subject
• Must possess strong public relations and communication skills
• Valid OK Driver’s License
• Must pass physical exam, drug screen.
• Must pass background check and fingerprint clearance
